Very unique B & B. Highly recommend for Holiday getaway, small meetings with breakouts, special occasions or just a weekend away with the wife! Very relaxing - unique animals and a cozy dining area. Very comfortable! I slept great!

Great getaway for us! Peaceful and charming with a tasty breakfast served in our room. Nearby is Denton square with lots of great places to eat, listen to music, have a nightcap. Having our own little cottage was unique. Highly recommend staying there!

This is a 5 star B&B. I have stayed 3 different weekends. It just gets better and better every time I stay. Jim and Rita are the sweetest. Thank you. Thank you.

My wife and I decided to take a mini-honeymoon after our wedding even though we could only go for two days. The first night we stayed in a local hotel. The next day we arrived at Patricks' Pastures, which was to be our first trip to a real bed and breakfast. After only a couple minutes, these wonderful folk's ranch felt like home. Jim and Rita are some of the nicest, most accommodating people I've ever met. That means something too, because folks in Texas are by nature good-hearted already! As young people starting our lives together, we couldn't be happier we made the decision to stay here. Our only regret is it might be a month or two before we can come back! The property is beautiful, and having one's own cottage is an extremely wonderful experience. Jim and Rita have thought of everything anyone could need as far as amenities and considerations go. The cottages are extremely comfortable and the hospitality couldn't be better. We hope to return many times and encourage all of our friends and family to do the same. Such a wonderful establishment right here in the heart of North Texas should be supported by both travelers and local residents alike! --Jeremiah Stapleton

My wife and I stayed at the Old Irish B&B for two nights to celebrate our second anniversary. I called to set up a reservation directly and Jim was very helpful and talked me through the options they had available, the rooms, and additional amenities they have there. We arrived and check-in was easy. Their lodging is very private, with three small cabin-rooms by a beautiful pond. This was GREAT as it allowed us to relax and enjoy the sounds of the farm on our own terms. Having said that, Jim was always just a phone call away and really bent over backwards to make sure we had a wonderful stay. There was even a hail/high wind concern the first night, and Jim found a place in a barn to put our car for the night. We took our breakfast in bed both mornings, and Jim showed up right on time with wonderful, delicious breakfast dishes each morning. We were expecting simple bacon & eggs, but instead we got fruit medleys, hash brown casseroles, tasty egg dishes and juice of a type I've forgotten but was very good. The alpaca ranch itself was a wonderful environment. Jim took us and the other guests around our first morning to feed the alpacas along with the ducks, geese, and catfish. It was really fun getting to hold, pet, and feed the alpacas. The beds were very, very comfortable. My wife and I slept great both nights. The rooms were on the small side, but had more than enough room for two people. Our room felt very new and very clean, though I believe it was not their newest room. The ranch itself is about 5 minutes east of Denton, so it was easy to go into town for dinner. Neither my wife nor I had been to a B&B before and were nervous about what to expect and how much it would cost. This anniversary getaway turned out to be a great experience for a great value. I would definitely recommend it to a friend. --Jason K., Arlington, Texas

Pay attention. That is what you have to do to fully enjoy Patrick’s Pastures, or, as my fiancé and I call it, Jim’s place. First of all – the mundane. Our room was spotless, the food was excellent, the bed comfortable beyond belief. That part would have made the weekend Ev and I spent at Jim’s worth every penny… but there was so much more. Pay attention . . . That is the key. I spent most of the nights sitting in an extremely comfortable chair on a wide open front porch. I listened to the coyotes yip in the distance, listened to the alpacas hum in the moonlight, and monitored the hounds who, in turn, monitored my safety. (Our second evening, a coyote encroached too far into the hound’s domain. Tex – one of the dogs – stood at the foot of my porch to guard me while the others dealt with the threat.) As the sun rose, I watched the hummingbirds play in the fountain, listened to the World wake, and spent an extremely enjoyable dawn listening to the animals begin to bark, yip, honk, quack, and coo to the new day. As for the evenings . . . Can I just say hot tub, wine, Sinatra and a dance floor in the moonlight. I give Patrick’s Pastures highest recommendations, and hope you will enjoy your stay as much as we did.

What a treasure only an hour from home! Jim and Rita are great hosts, excellent cooks and all-around super people! We stayed here on our wedding night and couldn't possibly have made a more wonderful choice...the cabins are nicely decorated and so private--we also had the good fortune to have weather that allowed us to have morning coffee on the porch overlooking the pond--quite a treat! We also got to meet and feed the alpacas and the Great Pyrenees guard dogs, and learned a lot from Jim in the process. We couldn't have asked for better hosts--can't wait until our next stay!

Absolutely perfect! Had free champagne, included tour of the facility and all the alpacas (up close), and a great place to hide away from the world, yet have great and speedy access to Dallas and the surrounding areas. The owner was involved just enough to provide great service but not enough to be obnoxious. Great personalities here. Definitely returning to this one!

My husband and I stayed at The Old Irish B&B to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary and really enjoyed the visit. Jim and Rita, the owners, could not have been more friendly and hospitable. Our breakfast was fabulous each morning and Denton (TX) offers a lovely shopping experience as well as some great new restaurants to try. The alpacas, llamas and other animals were a delight to learn about too! So cute! We will be visiting again!
